Golden State Extends Series With Dominant Second Half Performance

WARRIORS FORCE GAME 6 WITH 121-106 WIN OVER LAKERS

Golden State extends series with dominant second-half performance

Box Score | Play-by-Play

Behind an early blitz from three and a late attack in the paint, the Golden State Warriors extended their second-round series with a 121-106 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, grabbing momentum as they try to author a 3-1 series comeback.

The Warriors trailed by as many as 16 points in the first half, but a 22-0 run spanning the second and third quarters gave them a lead they would not relinquish. Stephen Curry led the way for Golden State with 27 points, while Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole added 25 and 21, respectively.

Anthony Davis led the Lakers with 24 points and 12 rebounds, but was held to just 1-of-7 shooting from the field in the second half. LeBron James added 22 points and 10 assists, but was also held in check by Golden State's defense.

The Warriors now trail 3-1 in the series, but will have a chance to force a Game 7 on Friday night in Los Angeles. The Lakers, meanwhile, will be looking to close out the series and advance to the Western Conference Finals.
