Manchester City thrash Wolves 5-1
Haaland scores four as City close gap on Arsenal
Manchester City moved to within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal with a crushing 5-1 victory over Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
Erling Haaland scored four goals for City, taking his tally for the season to 25 in all competitions. Joao Cancelo added the other goal for the visitors, while Wolves' consolation came from Fabio Silva.
City were dominant from the start and took the lead after just 12 minutes when Haaland converted a penalty after he was fouled by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.
Haaland doubled City's lead in the 35th minute with a clinical finish from close range, and he completed his hat-trick just before half-time with a header from a Kevin De Bruyne cross.
Cancelo made it 4-0 to City in the 54th minute with a fine strike from outside the area, and Haaland added his fourth of the afternoon in the 60th minute after being set up by Riyad Mahrez.
Silva pulled one back for Wolves in the 70th minute, but it was only a consolation as City cruised to a comfortable victory.
